Scientists

In this project you will research a particular scientist (living or not-living) that made some sort of contribution to our world.  Whether the scientist invented something, made something better, contributed enormous ideas, or discovers something, we want to know about it!

Research Project Choices:

You have 3 choices for the type of project that you complete:

  1. Create a front-page news story/article about your scientist.

  2. Create a printed children’s book about your scientist.

  3. Create a full color poster of your famous scientist .

1. Go to NoodleTools and Create a New Project called your scientist's name.  You will collect your source information in NoodleTools.

2. Get the notes sheet:

  • Open a new tab, go to google.com
  • Sign in to Google, go to your Drive
  • Click on the "Shared with me" folder
  • Go to the Famous Scientist Project File, click on the file name.
  •   Go to File, choose "Make a copy"
  • Name this Your Last name/Scientist name
  • Move this file to your Science folder
  • Share this file with Mrs. McCormick

You will use this form to record your information.

3. Locate and Use Information: Begin researching with links below. Record ALL sources, including images, in Noodletools as you work.

4. Synthesis and Evaluation: When you have the required information to answer all the questions, create your product:

  • Front Page News Story: there is a Google Presentation template in your Shared with me area of Google Drive.  Follow the directions above to Make a Copy and move to your science folder then SHARE this with Mrs. McCormick
  • Children's Book: Create a Google Presentation to write your book,  SHARE this with Mrs. McCormick
  • Poster: you can create this electronically using Google Presentation, SHARE this with Mrs. McCormick

5. NoodleTools Works Cited Page: Use Print/Export to Google in NoodleTools to "print" your Works Cited page.  Once the Google Doc opens, go to Insert > Header and add your name to the top.  Move to your Science folder. Share with Mrs. McCormick.
